0Rule 1: count rare against rare
Compare like with like. One rare squishy is usually worth a few common ones, and a legendary or glitter edition is worth more again. If one side is handing over three commons for a legendary, that side is losing out.
Rule 2: more items isn't the same as more value
A pile of five plain squishies can still be worth less than one chase item. Look at what each thing actually is, not how big the stack looks.
Rule 3: a fair swap survives being flipped
Ask yourself: would I be happy taking the other side of this deal? If the answer is no, it's not a fair trade — it's a scam, even if nobody says so out loud.
Rule 4: asking for a bit more is allowed
If a deal feels light, you can ask the other person to add something. Asking twice is normal. Pushing after that usually means the trade just isn't right today.
Rule 5: saying no is fine
"No thanks, I'm keeping that one" is a complete answer. Nobody has to explain why, and a good trading partner never sulks about it.
